To apply to request funds from the SWMT Flood Relief Fund:

Communities in Park County and other areas of SW MT experienced severe flooding this past Spring. In response, Greater Gallatin United Way (GGUW) and the Park County Community Foundation (PCCF) launched the SW MT Flood Relief Fund in the hours following the flood.

Launched in June 2022, the SW MT Flood Relief Fund has provided almost $3 million to over 400 individuals, businesses, and nonprofits impacted by the flooding of the Yellowstone River and its tributaries.

These round 1 funds went to urgent, critical needs like evacuation costs, food replacement, income stability, water, medicine and other needs.

Starting October 1st, 2022 the SW MT Flood Relief Fund has transitioned to a 2nd phase of funding to address the unique needs of each community in Park County following the flood.

Phase II Priority Areas:

  • Economic Relief to North Yellowstone Communities- The SW MT Flood Relief Fund has partnered with the Yellowstone Community Fund to provide critical funding to help the communities surrounding Gardiner, Cooke City, Silver Gate, and Mammoth, WY. For more information and to apply visit: Yellowstone Community Fund

  • Nonprofit Relief and Resiliency Grants- Local nonprofits will continue to play a critical role in the long-term relief and resiliency of Park County communities for years to come. Nonprofits serving those impacted by the flood are encouraged to apply. For more information and to apply, click: Here

  • Severe Flood Damage- Many in Park County experienced physical damage to their home, business, or nonprofits from rising water. Case managers are working with previous applicants to identify increased needs. Currently, the fund is not accepting new applications for direct flood damage.

Nonprofit Recovery and Resiliency Grants

Park County is fortunate to have a robust nonprofit sector. Our local nonprofits will continue to play a role in the long-term relief and resiliency of our community for years to come have been instrumental to the recovery in the Upper Yellowstone Drainage.

Some grant highlights include:

The Human Resource Development Council received a grant to provide people direct support for housing costs, utility bills, firewood loss, and propane refills and more. Additionally, HRDC is also serving as the official Resource Navigator, connecting residents to a variety of different programs and resources aimed at helping those impacted by the flood.

The Livingston Food Resource Center and the Gardiner Food Pantry experienced significant increases in overall food distribution. Thanks to your support of the SW MT Flood Relief Fund, we were able to support their efforts to combat food insecurity.

Supported by a grant from us, a partnership between LiveWell 49 and the Livingston Food Resource Center is providing extensive mental health support for anyone having difficulty after experiencing losses from this historic flooding.
