Announcing Our Keynote Speaker for the 2024-25 Annual Campaign Kickoff: Laurie Bishop

We are thrilled to announce that Laurie Bishop, a dedicated nonprofit leader with extensive experience at both the community and state levels, will be the keynote speaker for Greater Gallatin United Way’s 2024-25 Annual Campaign Kickoff. Greater Gallatin United Way is proud to be Leading The Way toward a thriving community, with dedicated partners and leaders like Laurie paving the path to a brighter future for all.

About Laurie Bishop

Laurie Bishop is a Community Health Specialist with Livingston HealthCare, where she leads the efforts of LiveWell49 (LW49), a coalition dedicated to promoting health and well-being in our communities. Her work with LW49 focuses on building strong communities through coalition-building, mental health promotion, and suicide prevention—critical issues in our region, especially in Park County, which has the highest suicide rate in Montana, one of the highest in the nation.

Before joining LW49, Laurie led the Montana Afterschool Alliance (MTAA), advocating for and supporting Montana’s out-of-school time sector. Her work extended across the state, where she played a pivotal role in the Graduation Matters Montana (GMM) initiative at the Office of Public Instruction. Through GMM, Laurie helped implement a collective impact model to improve high school graduation rates and strengthen connections between early learning and adulthood. Laurie’s career has been dedicated to building strong communities, fostering youth development, and creating a sense of belonging for everyone.

Leading the Way: Addressing Our Community’s Toughest Challenges

Laurie Bishop’s work in community health and youth development closely aligns with Greater Gallatin United Way’s mission to address critical needs like mental health, affordable childcare, early learning, and ensuring our neighbors’ basic needs are met. Her partnership with GGUW highlights the strength of collective action in overcoming these challenges and building a healthier, more resilient community.
