MENTAL HEALTH & WELL-BEING

KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY HEALTHY

Join us in our mission to prioritize mental health and well-being in our community. Together, we can create a healthier, more resilient community for all.

THE FOUNDATION OF OUR PROGRAMS

At Greater Gallatin United Way, we believe that mental health and well-being are the foundation of all our programs and initiatives. We understand that a healthy mind is essential for individuals and communities to thrive. That’s why we prioritize mental health across all our efforts, ensuring that support and resources are available to everyone who needs them.

TEEN MENTAL HEALTH

In Gallatin and Park counties, suicide is a leading cause of death among teens, reflecting the urgent need for mental health interventions and support.

HIGHEST SUICIDE RATES

Montana consistently has the highest suicide rates in the United States. The suicide rate is nearly double the national average.

ACCESS TO SUPPORT

Approximately 70% of Montana’s counties are designated as Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas, indicating a significant lack of access to mental health care providers.

OUR COMMITMENT

AWARENESS &
PREVENTION

Through collaboration, we drive mental health awareness and prevention, highlighting the critical role of education, stigma reduction, and early intervention for a healthier community.

The Gallatin Behavioral Health Coalition brings together local organizations, healthcare providers, educators, and community members to address mental health issues collaboratively. This coalition works to identify gaps in services, advocate for policy changes, and develop comprehensive strategies to improve mental health care in our region.

The LiveWell49 Coalition is dedicated to embracing a culture of health in Park County through creative community solutions and effective outreach. LiveWell49 acts as the umbrella organization for all entities and individuals working to improve the health of Park County citizens and acts as the hub for all resources and information involved in its mission.

The Local Advisory Council was called for by the 1999 Montana State Legislature to increase local public participation and awareness of mental health issues and care. The local advisory council is a coalition of community members interested in assessing, planning and strengthening public mental health services in our community.

Mental Health & WELL-BEING Partners

We collaborate with a network of dedicated mental and behavioral health partners to provide comprehensive support to our community. These partnerships ensure community members have access to a range of services, from counseling and therapy to crisis intervention and wellness programs.

AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS

Mental health awareness campaigns educate the community, reduce stigma, and promote mental wellness. By spreading knowledge and encouraging open conversations, we aim to create a supportive environment where everyone feels safe seeking help.
