At Greater Gallatin United Way, we’re proud to spotlight Help Center, Inc as we gear up to celebrate 2-1-1 Day this February. Since 1971, Help Center, Inc. has provided 24/7 crisis, suicide, and resource services to Bozeman, Gallatin Valley, and surrounding areas. They offer trauma-informed care for sexual assault survivors, family visitation support, and operate multiple programs, including Montana 211, 988 Suicide & Crisis Hotline, The Sexual Assault Counseling Center, Hearts and Homes Family Resource Center, Gallatin County Child Advocacy Center, and Sacks Thrift Store.
Through Montana 211, Help Center connects individuals with essential resources and mental health support across 13 counties in Southwest Montana. By operating both local and state-level 211 and 988 crisis lines, they assist people in navigating mental health and physical health crises, and they play a crucial role in disaster response with the Montana 211 resource database, helping the community access vital services during times of need.

During the 23-24 FY , the Montana 211 helpline answered a total of 751 calls, including 75 mental health crises, 133 other crises, and 147 emotional support calls. They also provided 440 referrals for essential services and connected individuals with crucial volunteer and donation opportunities. These numbers underscore the essential role of the 211 helpline in addressing the growing needs of our community, especially in times of stress and uncertainty.
