Women United | Day of Action Book Drive
Join Women United for a meaningful Day of Action volunteer opportunity to help launch a summer Book Drive.
Greater Gallatin United Way is looking for 5–10 Women United volunteers to help plan a community book drive that will support outreach efforts to enroll more eligible children in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and provide books at community events and afterschool sites this fall.
On Friday, June 26, volunteers will meet at the GGUW office for 1.5–2 hours to brainstorm book donation sources, divide responsibilities, and create a simple action plan for the summer drive.
Volunteer opportunities after Day of Action may include:
- Connecting with local businesses to request book donations
- Helping spread messaging to the community and donors
- Picking up donated books and delivering them to GGUW
- Cleaning, labeling, and sorting books by age range
- Supporting book distribution, if needed
GGUW will provide talking points, marketing support, and book storage to help make the effort successful.
Help us put more books into the hands of local children and inspire a love of reading from an early age.
