Chef Emily Hahn is a former Top Chef contestant and Chopped competitor, and the Chef/Owner of Mountain Provisions, a premier private chef and catering company based in Bozeman, Montana. Specializing in out-door open-fire culinary experiences and elevated in-home private dining, she showcases Montana’s agricultural bounty, from farm-fresh vegetables and heritage grains to regeneratively raised beef and local bison—crafting meals deeply connected to the land and the people who sustain it.
Chef Em’s culinary journey began in high school as a hostess and later committed herself to a career in the kitchen after working for Ed Vasaio, Chef + Owner of Mamma Zu, an Italian eatery in Richmond, VA, vastly known for its incredibly delicious traditional Italian cuisine—and shitty service. A NECI graduate and 25-year culinary veteran, her career led her to Chilean Patagonia to work as a chef at a fly fishing lodge, cooking for James Beard Award–winning Chef Mike Lata at FIG restaurant, running a successful empanada business, and then helming kitchens across the Carolinas.
As many paths do, a shift led her to find her sea legs and earn an OUPV + 100-ton Master Mate Captain’s license after years of working in the commercial shrimping business for Tarvin Seafood. She’s now established roots in both Montana and South Carolina with her new pup, Trout, and is grateful to share her stories through her carefully curated menus. Always cooking with love, Chef Emily Hahn has an endless passion for bringing folks together with her food.
