Greater Gallatin United Way’s annual campaign is how our community turns shared generosity into action. This year, we are working to raise $750,000, but the campaign is about far more than reaching a fundraising goal.
It is about bringing businesses, schools, nonprofit partners, volunteers, donors, and public leaders together around the challenges and opportunities that shape life in southwest Montana. No one organization can create lasting change alone. But when we work together, we can strengthen early learning, help young people succeed, support mental health and well-being, meet basic needs, and create more stability for working families.
Local businesses are an essential part of that collective impact. Through workplace campaigns, businesses of every size can bring their employees together around the community they call home. A campaign may include employee giving, volunteerism, a supply drive, a special event, or simply a chance for a team to learn more about the local organizations making a difference every day. Together, these efforts help support more than 28 nonprofit partners across our region.
We are grateful to NorthWestern Energy, SITKA Gear, First Security Bank, ERA Landmark, Opportunity Bank, Pinion, and Stockman Bank for kicking off workplace campaigns so far this year. Their leadership reflects the belief that a strong business community and a strong community overall go hand in hand.
Many of these partners show up in additional ways throughout the year. NorthWestern Energy employees volunteer and take part in Day of Action. First Security Bank sponsors GGUW events and recently supported kidsLINK through a supply drive. ERA Landmark is a Women United business sponsor, helping create opportunities for women to connect and invest in our community. SITKA Gear donates goods that help raise funds, and Stockman Bank helps make community events possible through sponsorship.
These partnerships matter because the health of our local economy is connected to the well-being of local families. When businesses support Child Connect and employer-supported child care, they help working parents remain in the workforce. When they volunteer with Community Impact Partners, sponsor events, join Women United as Business Members, or support kidsLINK, they help strengthen the network of people and organizations families rely on.
That is collective impact. It is not one gift, one volunteer day, or one workplace campaign. It is many people and organizations choosing to show up, contribute what they can, and build something stronger together.
United is the way we create lasting change.
