Because Work Doesn’t Work Without Child Care
Every business knows when child care doesn’t work, work doesn’t work. Reliable, affordable child care is the foundation of a strong workforce and a thriving community. Yet families across our region continue to struggle to find care, and many parents are forced to make tough choices that affect their ability to stay in the workforce.
At Greater Gallatin United Way, we are working to change that. Through programs like kidsLINK Afterschool and Child Connect, we support working families, strengthen local child care providers, and help employers build more family-friendly workplaces.
This is where your business can make a difference. Whether you are a small local shop or a large company, your involvement creates lasting impact for families, children, and our community.
1. Become a Child Connect Sponsor
Child Connect, powered by Greater Gallatin United Way, brings families, employers, and child care providers together to make child care more accessible and sustainable in Gallatin, Park, Madison, and Meagher counties. By becoming a Child Connect sponsor, your business helps expand local solutions, from connecting families to open child care spots to funding scholarships for those in need. Sponsorships also offer visibility and recognition for companies investing in the future of Montana’s workforce.
2. Host a Workplace Giving Campaign
When employees unite to give, the results are powerful. Workplace giving campaigns are an easy and meaningful way to make a difference. Small contributions each pay period add up to big change for local families.
United Way provides all the materials, guidance, and support needed to make giving simple and rewarding for your team. Whether you have five employees or five hundred, every workplace can be part of the solution.
3. Donate In-Kind or Host a kidsLINK Supply Drive
Your business can make a direct impact by donating goods, services, or supplies that support local families and programs. Contribute materials for kidsLINK camps and afterschool programs, sponsor field trip transportation, or donate gift cards, certificates, or services for raffles, auctions, and community events. In-kind donations help reduce costs and ensure more funding goes directly to programs that help children and families thrive.
You can also organize a kidsLINK Supply Drive or shop our Amazon Wishlist to keep our afterschool programs stocked with art supplies, STEM kits, snacks, and games. Supply drives are simple to host and a great way to bring your team together while giving back to local kids.
4. Volunteer with GGUW
Get your team involved and give back together. Partner with Greater Gallatin United Way to volunteer for one of our programs or join one of our nonprofit partners in the community. Participate in our annual Day of Action in June, or let us help you find the perfect volunteer opportunity to match your team’s goals, interests, and schedule. Volunteering builds stronger teams, boosts morale, and makes a lasting difference right here at home.
5. Make Giving Fun and Easy
Giving back can be a fun way to build team spirit. Host a chili cook-off or bake sale, start a pay to wear jeans day, or place a change jar in the break room. Try Give Back Fridays, where employees donate the cost of their morning coffee, or organize a raffle or friendly competition between departments. These creative efforts build connection and raise funds that directly support kidsLINK, Child Connect, and the families who depend on them.
