Strengthening Mental Health Support: A Spotlight on Help Center, Inc

The forefront of community health needs assessments, both at the state and local levels, has highlighted the critical importance of behavioral health. A significant contributor to addressing this need is Help Center, Inc., a steadfast lifeline connecting individuals to crisis counselors and resource navigators 24/7. Covering 13 counties in Southwest Montana since 1971, Help Center, Inc.'s resource database has evolved into an essential component of the mental health crisis response system, serving as a centralized hub for community resources.

Amidst shifts in the mental health system, particularly in Gallatin County, the coordination among partners and stakeholders has grown more robust. The 2-1-1 services and resource database have played a pivotal role in local mental health crisis response efforts, notably during the rollout of 9-8-8, the suicide prevention and crisis hotline. 9-8-8 serves as Montana’s dedicated crisis lifeline, accessible to anyone in suicidal crisis, emotional distress, or concerned about a loved one.

Greater Gallatin United Way proudly stands as a committed partner alongside Help Center, Inc., acknowledging and celebrating their growth and significant contribution to behavioral and mental health services across the region. Together, we persist in building a more resilient, supportive community for all.
