Making a Difference Together

United in Purpose: Making a Difference Together

Last month we officially kicked off our 2023-24 Annual Campaign, "United in Purpose." At Greater Gallatin United Way (GGUW), we've always believed in the incredible power of collective action and community spirit. It's a belief that has driven us for years, and now more than ever, it's a belief that we need to uphold.

As we move forward, we've been reminded of the growing needs within our community. The cost of living is skyrocketing, and, unfortunately, Montana has gained the unfortunate distinction of having the highest suicide rate in the country. These statistics serve as a powerful reminder that we have work to do, and we can do it united.

Our 2023-24 Annual Campaign is not just a call to action; it's an invitation to be part of something bigger. It's an opportunity to give back and to live united. This campaign is a reminder that we are not alone in our commitment to change, and that together, we are stronger than any challenge. Working together, we can make a lasting impact on our neighbors, our community, and our future. Neighbors like the Stevenson family.

Alli and Chris, like many other parents, were faced with the challenges of balancing work and parenting. With their two children, 6 and 8, needing a safe and nurturing environment after school, they found the GGUW kidsLINK out-of-school programs.

Alli enthusiastically shares, "The kidsLINK program has been a lifeline for our family. Last year, I reentered the workforce to help support our family, and we enrolled our kids in the kidsLINK afterschool program. It's not just a place for our kids to spend their afternoons; kidsLINK and its wonderful staff have become catalysts for their learning and create experiences they wouldn't have. Our children are making new friends, excelling academically, and our daughter has a newfound passion for engineering. Without the program's support and Greater Gallatin United Way's tuition assistance, we would have been at a loss. It has genuinely transformed our family dynamics. Now, after work and school, we can connect as a family."

Alli's words resonate with the impact we can have when we work together as a community. The kidsLINK program is just one example of how our united efforts can bring hope and positive change to the lives of our neighbors. It is just one story of hope that exemplifies the positive impact of collective action.
